Abstract

Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is an autosomal recessively inherited disease, affecting mainly people of

Jewish, Arabic, Turkish and Armenian ancestry. Its hallmark is attacks of fever and painful manifestations in the

abdomen, joints, chest, scrotum and skin. The diagnosis of FMF remains essentially clinical. In this article some

clues are presented to help in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of FMF
