Abstract

Bilateral cerebral hemorrhages in the basal ganglions impairing the conciousness and causiny quadraparesis are rare clinical entities. In the case presently reported, the patient suffered bilateral intracerebral hemorrhages in the basal ganglions. A 78-year-old man with a history of hipertansion was admitted with acute impaired mentality. His blood pressure was 180/120 mmHG on admission. Laboratory results were within the normal range. After aggressive treatment, brain computorized tomogropiny showed bilateral intracerebral hemorrhages in the basal ganglions and cerebral edema. In the present article, we reported one case with bilateral intracerebral hemorrhages occured simultaneously in the basal ganglions in a hypertensive patient. Drawing on the previous literature and our own case, the issue was discussed.
