The purpose of this study was to compare efficacy of topical diclofenac sodium 0.1% with ketorolac tromethamine 0.5% following strabismus surgery. 40 Patients undergoing strabismus surgery were evaluated. They were divided into two groups: 20 patients received topical diclofenac sodium 0.1% (Group A), and 20 patients received ketorolac tromethamine 0.5% (Group B) for 4 weeks. At each visit pain, discomfort, conjunctival vasodilatation, and chemosis was recorded. Follow-up visits were at 1st, 2nd, and 4th weeks, postoperatively. There was no statistically significant difference between two groups for any of the parameters at any post operative visit (P>0.05). The result of this study suggest that topical diclofenac sodium 0.1% or ketorolac tromethamine 0.5% can be used as an antiinflammatory and analgesic agent following strabismus surgery.
